Advantages:

- of prevention and early treatment of Influenza

– of controlled Mood Disorders

Influenza

1) Early diagnosis of the ‘flu can permit early treatment. If the student receives early treatment the course of the illness can be shortened, and he/she will be able to return to classes sooner.

2) One student missing class may prevent others students and the faculty member form getting sick.

Mood disorders/Substance abuse

1) A student who is suffering from a mood disorder will not be at their best.
2) Helping a student to seek assistance or treatment can enable him/her to have a more successful college experience

Diabetes

1) Students with diabetes who have their disease under control are less likely to miss class.


2) Students who know that their instructor is familiar with the disease are more likely to approach them if they feel they are having a problem with their blood sugar level.

Seizures

1) A student who has a seizure but is under control, should be able to participate fully in class.
