Advantages:

Simplistic assessment (e.g., the behavior is “bad”) leads to simplistic interventions. And simplistic interventions are inefficient and generally disruptive of the community.

A sophisticated assessment can consider the width and depth of human behavior and customize intervention for the greatest impact with the least effort. It can be targeted to keep a student motivated and working, rather than discarding a student as “broken.”
