Retention Techniques :

  • Include the significance of women's political and social roles and contributions to the curricula within each department.
  • Avoid sexual innuendo and other sexually suggestive comments, humor and jokes about sex or gender-specific traits in the classroom that degrade women.
  • Encourage women to report sexual harassment, sexual assault, and/or date rape to the Western Kentucky University police department.
  • Support the Women's Studies program by offering interdisciplinary classes in each department that concentrate on women's roles, contributions, and issues.
