Faculty Support Ideas:

The first step in supporting these students of faith is to be aware that they are in our classrooms.
The second step is to become more informed regarding the religious traditions they represent.
The third step is to be sensitive to the ways in which we use language in the classroom, about our own assumptions and stereotypes (conscious and unconscious) that we may bring to the classroom, as well as the biases of other students.
The fourth step, which is more proactive, is to make all students feel welcome in the classroom by helping them feel that their ideas, perspectives, and contributions are valued at WKU.

Education should be challenging but not necessarily threatening.
