Faculty Support Ideas :

Western faculty, on the whole, are very supportive of our athletes. One supportive action by professors would be to understand the demands of travel. By necessity, football players will miss a few Fridays each fall semester.

If a test is given on a travel day and no make-up test is allowed, the student is put in an impossible situation. It is his duty to represent his school in athletic competition, but his duty is also to meet his academic responsibilities.

When a student athlete cuts class they should be treated exactly as any other student who has an unexcused absence.
