Who are Student Athletes?

We currently have 390 student athletes who are participating members in our ten male sports teams and ten female sports teams. Perhaps 390 doesn't seem like a large number considering the total enrollment numbers at our university, but our students are certainly among the most visible.

Student athletes are photographed and reported on, and quite literally, watched as no other group of students. While their achievements are certainly reported, their slightest transgression is just as surely made public. Athletes are almost never just one of a crowd.

WKU's student athlete graduation rate is 77%. We have 51% of our athletes who graduate in four years as opposed to the regular students who graduate in four years at a rate of 38%.
