ADMISSION CRITERIA
Minimum application requirements for Incoming Freshmen include any one of the following:

- 27 ACT composite or combined verbal and math SAT of 1210
- 3.8 unweighted high school GPA
- Top 15% of graduating high school class

Transfer and Current WKU Students must have completed no more than 45 college credits with a minimum 3.5 GPA to apply. We admit on a space availability basis for transfer and current students.

TERMS
The selection for WKU Honors College admission is distinct from that for WKU and for WKU scholarships. Honors College selections are competitive as space is limited to 300 students per incoming class. Students receiving Presidential and Award of Excellence scholarships are required to participate and remain in good standing in the Honors College.

DEADLINES
January 15: Priority admission deadline for applications to the Honors College for fall semester. Late applications will be considered as space permits in the class cohorts of 300 students. For those who apply by the priority deadline, admission decisions will be made by April 1.

September 15: Deadline for transfer and current WKU student admission to the Honors College for spring semester. Final decisions for spring admission are made prior to spring registration.

INSTRUCTIONS
The items below are required for consideration of your application:

Application: Carefully complete the Honors College application. Please print. Applications are also available online.

Activities Summary: Follow instructions on the Activities Summary form carefully. Do not exceed one page.

Essay: The WKU Honors College seeks students with a diversity of interests and perspectives, possessing the capacity and motivation to excel. Discuss the following essay topic succinctly, but with enough detail for the selection committee to get a better sense of your competencies (250-500 words). Please type on a separate sheet of paper with your name at the top.

What unique experiences, characteristics, or skill sets would you contribute to our Honors College community?

Recommendation Form (Optional): Recommendation Forms are available on our website at www.wku.edu/honors/recform.php. This supporting document is NOT required. However, students who believe a recommendation would enhance the application are encouraged to go to our website for more information. Recommendation Forms must be submitted by the January 15 Priority Deadline to ensure full consideration.

Submit Electronically

- If you use an email application such as Microsoft Outlook Express, Microsoft Outlook, Eudora, or Mail CLICK HERE!
- If you use an Internet email service such as Yahoo or Microsoft Hotmail CLICK HERE!

Print your TYPED and COMPLETED Honors College application and mail to

- First make sure you have the latest Adobe Reader
- Fill out the entire application as it applies to you.
- When finished, at the bottom of the form click Submit By Email

- A dialogue box will open

- A new message should open with the application already attached and the email address already inserted. Just attach your Honors College essay in the same message and SEND!
