National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC)
NCHC (National Collegiate Honors Council) is the national professional organization for Honors Programs and Colleges.
The NCHC provides a number of opportunities for faculty:
- annual NCHC conference to learn about latest developments in Honors issues, such as pedagogy;
- two separate peer reviewed journals (Honors in Practice and Journal of the NCHC);
- periodic monographs and edited volumes related to various elements of the Honors experience; and
- periodic workshops and faculty development institutes.

The Honors College sends a group of faculty and students to the annual NCHC conference. Additionally, WKU is quite active in publishing in NCHC journals and monographs. Finally, WKU has been recognized with several awards from NCHC:
- 2006/7 Student of the Year, Lindsey Thurman
- 2007/8 Student Newsletter of the Year.
