New Faculty Join Department

to our new faculty members
After a nationwide
search, the Department of Management and the Center
for Entrepreneurship and Innovation welcome two
recently hired faculty, Dr. Shane Spiller and Dr.
Matt Marvel. Dr. Spiller will teach courses in
organizational behavior and leadership in the
Department of Management. Dr. Marvell will teach
courses in innovation and entrepreneurship in the
Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
Dr. Spiller comes to WKU from Morehead State University where he was Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior. He has an outstanding record of achievement including research publications in notable journals such as Journal of Business Ethics, Psychological Reports, Teaching Business Ethics, Psychological Reports, and Review of Business Research. His primary teaching interests are in the areas of leadership, ethics, communication, and organizational behavior.
Dr. Marvel was formerly co-founder and vice-president of a technical training and consulting firm. He has consulted for organizations such as John Deere, Pfizer, TRW, and Digital Audio Disk. He received the Kauffman Dissertation Fellowship for his research examining how technology entrepreneurs use knowledge to construct radical innovation. His research was recently accepted for publication by the acclaimed journal, Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice.
