AREAS OF EXPERTISE:
Dr. Zimmer focuses his research in the areas of health economics, labor economics, and applied microeconometrics. His current econometric work focuses on modeling joint distributions through the use of copula functions, with special emphasis on nonlinear and nonsymmetric dependence structures. His current applied microeconomic research focuses on interactions between marital stability, child health, health insurance, and health care utilization. PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES:
Before joining the WKU faculty, Dr. Zimmer worked for the antitrust division in the Bureau of Economics at the U.S. Federal Trade Commission in Washington, D.C. During his time in Washington, he also served as an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Economics at Georgetown University.
