I began my work experience at WKU in November, 1988.
However, I was
not a stranger to "the Hill". My family moved to Russellville,
Kentucky, from St. Louis,
Missouri,
just before I was born. I had the privilege of being raised in a small
community with an outstanding educational facility just a few minutes
away
in Bowling Green. All through
my middle grades and high school career in the Russellville
Independent Schools, WKU was an important part of my educational and
competitive
experiences. I attended WKU and received an Associates of Business
Degree
in Legal Secretarial Administration in 1982, and received my Bachelors
of Interdisciplinary Studies in December, 2006, and am currently
working on the graduate Leadership Certificate and other graduate
courses. WKU is now
a family affair with my
husband
also working at WKU in the Shipping
and Receiving department, and my daughter is a graduate student in the
Student Affairs program and WKU employee, my son-in-law is an
undergraduate student in the Architecture program and my son has been a
WKU student
also.
So you can see, WKU has been, and continues to be, a big part of my
life.
Outside of work, I am busy with my husband
and children.
I am a Christian and an active member at Post
Oak Baptist Church, where I work with preschooler Sunday School,
1-6 grade girls, (Girls
in Action) and 7-12 grade girls, (Acteens).
I am a member of the handbell choir and also play clarinet in the
church
ensemble. (I'm still a band member at heart!) My husband and I
are on the board for the Upward
flag football in Logan Co., Kentucky.
I also am a member of the
Associational Leadership Team as the Acteens Consultant for the Bethel
Baptist Association and a member of the Kentucky
WMU State
Resource Team.
On a more serious note, I am also a diabetic and
would like to share
a couple of sites with you for your information.
American Diabetes Association
has a lot of useful information, as well as a publication, Diabetes
Forecast, dedicated to diabetics and their issues. Another good
source
of information is Diabetes.Com. I
would encourage anyone that has symptoms of diabetes or is just curious
to visit these sites. Unfortunately, this is a very debilitating
disease
and many people may have it WITHOUT EVEN KNOWING IT.
THANKS for visiting my page and getting to know a little more about me AND a little more about what makes Western Kentucky University so unique, it's faculty and staff. Please visit other areas of the WKU homepage to learn more about WKU .
Yes, I am the author
of the
CFS
site and would love to hear any positive comments you have about it
or any suggestions to improve it.
