Course Objectives: When you have
completed this course, you will be able to:
1. Apply a knowledge of service
delivery models in child care and early childhood education including health
and safety issues and affective correlates for successful caregiving.
2. Design and maintain developmentally appropriate
learning environments.
3. Work collaboratively with families and colleagues
4. Begin to meet the performance-based standards for
Early Childhood personnel.
The instructor reserves the right to make changes in
the course at her discretion.

1. Quizzes over assigned reading material
2. Critical Performances based on the field experience
3. Midterm and final exams
4. 15 hours of observation (See field experience
requirements)

Attendance Policy: There is not
attendance policy per say for this class.
However, per university requirements, the student should notify the
instructor before the end of the first week of classes that they are actively
participating in the class. Failure to
contact the instructor may result in being dropped from the class for
non-attendance.
Plagiarism Policy: All
assignments, projects and examinations must be the original work of the
student.
Plagiarism
is a serious offense and is considered an act of Academic Dishonesty. The academic work of a student must be
his/her own. Students who commit any act
of academic dishonesty may receive from the instructor a failing grade. The faculty member may also present the case
to the Office of the Dean of Student Life for disciplinary sanction.
Original
work may include information, thoughts or ideas of others but this MUST be
indicated by the use of quotation marks and referenced in the assignment. Word for word copying from any published or
unpublished source is called PLAGIARISM and will NOT be accepted in this course
or at this university. Any work found to
be plagiarized will result in immediate failure of this course.
Grading/Evaluation: Grading is
done on a percentage of the total points for the class. A letter grade will be given as a final
grade.

Activities: This class is an interactive video service
class. Class sessions will be broadcast

Requirements for Field
Experiences: Please be aware that each student will be
responsible for maintaining all records that may be required within your field
experience. For instance, some early
care and education settings require a criminal check, TB test and a physical
health exam before entering the classrooms.
Each student must be responsible for obtaining and maintaining the
necessary paperwork.
Special Instructional Materials: Students enrolled in this class will need to have reliable internet access, a valid email address, and software that is compatible with the Blackboard software and the instructor’s software.
