Some Consortium Activities -- People and Places
KSGC Undergraduate Scholarships and Graduate Fellowships are based on faculty-mentored, space-related student research, including participation in the NASA Academies. Some of the mentors and facilities supporting the program are accessible through the following links:
KSGC Student Programs are higher education programs providing opportunities for students to perform research in a reduced-gravity environment, to design and conduct a flight mission, or to provide leadership for high school students for involvement in projects such as the NASA Moon Buggy Competition.
KSGC Research Opportunities seed faculty development of space-related research activities in Kentucky, in areas of interest to the NASA Enterprises. Some of the faculty and facilities involved are:
KSGC Faculty Programs/Other Education and Training are KSGC-funded higher education activities in which Kentucky university and college faculty develop and conduct workshops for training both preservice (undergraduate) and inservice (graduate) teachers to use space-related activities and topics to inspire student learning. Some of the facilities and people involved in the program are linked below:
KSGC Outreach Programs provide opportunities for the general public to learn about space, space-related, and NASA-related topics in order to motivate increased familiarity with and appreciation for these issues. Many of the activities arise in connection with specific phenomenological opportunities, such as the appearance of a comet, a lunar or solar eclipse, a close apparition of a planet, a meteor shower, or a major NASA exploration event. We also feature other, regularly scheduled activities such as planetarium and public viewing programs, the STARDATE radio program and the NOVA television program.
