| THE 26th ANNUAL MATHEMATICS SYMPOSIUM (2006) |
The Department of Mathematics sponsored its 26th Annual Mathematics Symposium on Friday and Saturday, November 17-18. The 2006 symposiastic theme was: "A Tour Through Mathematics ... Approximately." Due to the abundant and cheerful contributions of our departmental faculty, this event was clearly a raging success! This symposium completely met its goals and objectives of providing a forum and an opportunity for students, faculty, and mathematics enthusiasts to share their interests and experiences in mathematics and mathematical concepts. The Department seizes this opportunity to express much thanks and appreciation to the many faculty members who contributed to the total success of this event. A special note of appreciation is hereby expressed to the primary planners and organizers: Dr. David Benko and Dr. Peter Sepanski, who also obtained financial support for students through the Mathematical Association of America (MAA-RUMC, NSF Grant DMS-0241090) and via the Ogden College of Science and Engineering at WKU. Without the essential, engaged interests of our participating guests from the many universities, colleges, and schools, this symposium could not have occurred! Hence, our department hereby expresses its humble gratitude to all those wonderful guests who created the success of this event. Without them, of course, no such symposium could have transpired! The Department hereby proudly presents the below displayed profile data regarding its 26th Annual Mathematics Symposium. Attendance: 340 |
