Position Announcment

The Mathematics Department at Western Kentucky University invites applications for one or two tenure-track positions at the assistant professor level beginning August 15, 2007 subject to availability of funding. Each position is designated for a person with a strong background in one of the areas: Combinatorics, Complex Analysis, or Partial Differential Equations. The candidate must have a Ph.D. in mathematics by the appointment date. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience. The normal teaching load is 9 credit hours per semester. Candidates should show evidence of excellent teaching. Faculty members also are expected to continue a program of high-quality research, scholarly activity, and service to both the department and the university.

Western Kentucky University is a comprehensive state-supported institution located in Bowling Green, KY, an urban area of about 60,000 people , located 65 miles north of Nashville, TN. The university has an enrollment of over 18,000 students with over 600 faculty members. The Mathematics Department offers both bachelor ’s and master ’s degrees, each with mathematics and mathematics education options.
