Department of Mathematics Position Announcment The Mathematics Department at Western Kentucky University invites applications for a tenure-track position in analysis at the assistant professor level, starting in August 2007. Special consideration will be given to strong applicants with research interests in approximation theory or potential theory. The candidate must have a Ph.D. in mathematics by appointment date. Excellence in teaching and research is essential. The usual teaching load is 9 credit hours per semester. Western Kentucky University is located in Bowling Green, KY, 65 miles north of Nashville, TN. The university has a total enrollment of about 18,000 students. The Mathematics Department has two master’s programs. Applicants should send a cover letter, the AMS standard cover sheet, CV, research and teaching statements, unofficial graduate transcripts, and three letters of recommendation (at least one addressing teaching).
