Mathematics Cash Awards
Each year, during the Ogden College Student Awards Ceremony, the Department of Mathematics presents awards to student recipients. The awards ceremony is normally scheduled about the middle of the month of April. The three awards which are presented by the Department of Mathematics, through award funds managed by the College Heights Foundation, are cash awards. The recipients of these Mathematics Awards are recommended by a mathematics awards committee in the Department of  Mathematics.  The names and amounts of these Mathematics Awards are displayed below.

DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS CASH AWARDS
Robert C. Bueker Award
for Outstanding Freshman

$200
Henry M. and Zula G. Yarbrough Award
for Outstanding Senior Mathematics Major

$250
Pauline Lowman Memorial
Secondary Mathematics Education Award

$200

A fourth award, also presented at the Ogden College Student Awards Ceremony, is provided by the departmental Beta Chapter of the Pi Mu Epsilon honorary mathematics society. This award is designated as the

              Pi Mu Epsilon Award for Outstanding Sophomore Mathematics Major
.

The names of the Mathematics Awards recipients are proudly displayed on award placards which are showcased on the hallway walls just outside the office of the Department of Mathematics.


A fifth award, presented at the Ogden College Student Awards Ceremony, is sponsored by the Department of Mathematics and is presented to the Outstanding Mathematics Graduate Student. Recipients of this award are nominated by a committee of graduate faculty members in the Department of Mathematics.  As cited above, this awards ceremony is usually scheduled about the middle of the month of April.  Select this  Link to NEWSline story.  

Mathematics Scholarships
Each year, the Department of Mathematics also presents scholarships to student recipients.  The three scholarships which are presented by the Department of Mathematics, through scholarship funds managed by the College Heights Foundation, are academic year scholarships. The recipients of these Mathematics Scholarships are recommended by a mathematics scholarship committee in the Department of Mathematics.  The names and amounts of these Mathematics Scholarships are displayed below.

Mathematics Awards
for 2007-2008
Each year, during the Ogden College Student Awards Ceremony, the Department of Mathematics presents awards to student recipients.
