Schedule of Events
2001 Ohio Valley Regional Home


Here is a schedule of events we will attempt to adhere to.  The order of presentations and races will be selected at random out of a hat after all registrations are in.

Up to 10:30 am - Set up display, paddling practice on the course
9:45 am - Captains meeting in Oral Presentation room
10:00am - Oral Presentations
11:30am - Canoe Judging and Swamp Test
Noon - Sprint Preliminaries
1 pm  - Lunch
1:30pm - Display Judging and Durability Judging of the Canoes (set up your canoe prior to eating lunch, judges will eat first and will judge while others are eating)
2pm - Sprint Finals
3pm - Distance Finals
3:30pm - Awards - 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards will be given in every race.  One award will be given in each of the following:  Best Paper, Best Presentation, Best Display, and Best Final Product.

Oral Presentations
Roughly 15 minutes will be allocated to each team for set-up, presentation, questions, and tear down.
The presentations will be inside a building at the site with power and a projector screen.
Try to be ready to set up when the preceding team finishes.  The official clock will start 5 minutes after your official start time (unless a delay is beyond your control).  If you are ready early, you can begin early.

10:15 am - Dayton
10:30 am - UK
10:45 am - Pitt
11:00 am - WKU
11:15 am - Cincy

Canoe Judging and Swamp Test
Canoes will be judged in the same order as above.  The canoes will be swamped after judging.

Sprint Preliminaries
Mens sprint 1st
Womens sprint 2nd
Coed sprint 3rd

HEAT 1
Lane 1 - Toledo
Lane 2 - Dayton
Lane 3 - UK
Lane 4 - empty

HEAT 1
Lane 1 - Pitt
Lane 2 - WKU
Lane 3 - Cincy
Lane 4 - empty

Top 4 times to Grande Finals. Petite Final will be the 5th and 6th place teams by time. If 5th and 6th place teams do not want to row in the petite final, we will award 5th and 6th place points by time in prelims.

Lunch
We will designate 1 hour for lunch depending on when the sprint prelims end.

Durability and Display
Judging will be in the order of presentations.  Set up canoes relatively close to display.  Display and canoe areas will be vacated during judging.

Sprint Finals
Same order as prelims

Distance Finals
Mens distance will go 1st
Womens distance will go 2nd
Order will be the same as oral presentations
We will send 1 team off every 2 minutes
