Parents, Teachers, Citizens Working Together
THE KAGE FOUNDATION, established in 1984, provides financial assistance to qualified elementary and secondary students throughout Kentucky who, because of financial need, would otherwise be discouraged from participating in the summer gifted programs offered by Kentucky's public universities. Financial assistance to the summer gifted programs is awarded to highly qualified students primarily on the basis of individual financial need.

CONTRIBUTIONS
Like KAGE, the KAGE Foundation is non-profit, and each contributor is entitled to a tax deduction if applicable. All contributors will receive recognition in the KAGE Update, and in the Foundation's annual report, unless anonymity is requested. KAGE truly appreciates the sponsorship of the Kentucky Education Savings Plan Trust!

Applying for a KAGE Foundation financial assistance
Students must be accepted by the summer program of their choice before any financial assistance will be approved. Applications for Foundation financial assistance are available from the KAGE Foundation, from local KAGE chapters, or from the KAGE Executive Director. As a rule, only partial financial assistance is awarded. This policy allows the students family and/or community to show commitment, and it allows limited funds to serve as many students as possible.

THE DEADLINE FOR APPLYING FOR KAGE FOUNDATION 2011 FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE IS POSTMARKED BY MARCH 18, 2011.

Award notifications are typically made in May.

Other possible financial assistance resources
Your local KAGE chapter, parent support group at school or other civic groups (e.g., Rotary, Optimists) may be able to help. In addition, some universities offer financial assistance to those attending their programs. The schools guidance counselor may be able to offer suggestions.
