2009 Fall Academic Calendar
August
August 25 Tuition and fees deadline for students who registered through August 9.
August 27 Residence halls open at 8:00 a.m.
August 28 Residual checks will be mailed to student's local address. Please note that enrollment changes, outstanding holds or additional charges on your account could result in a delay in release of your residual check.
August 31 Day and evening classes begin.  Students initially registering on or after this date will be subject to a late registration penalty of $50.
September
September 2 Last day to add a first bi-term course.  Last day to drop a first bi-term course without a grade.  Last day to change a first bi-term course from audit to credit. Last day to receive 100% refund for a first bi-term course.
September 3 $50 Schedule Change Fee begins for first bi-term classes.
September 7 Last day to receive 50% refund for first bi-term classes.
September 7 Classes dismissed for Labor Day.
September 8 Last day  to register for a full-time course load (12 or more hours for undergraduates and 9 or more for graduates).
September 8 Last day to add a full semester course.  Last day to drop a full semester course without a grade.  Last day to change a full semester course from audit to credit.  Last day to receive 100% refund for a full semester course (refer to Tuition and Fee Refund Policy).
September 8 Tuition and fees deadline for students who registered August 10-23.
September 9 $50 Schedule Change Fee begins for full semester courses. Last day to receive any refund for first bi-term classes.
September 15 Last day to receive 50% refund for full semester course.
September 22 Last day to receive any refund for the 2009 fall semester for a full semester course.
September 23 Last day to drop a first bi-term course with a W.
September 29 Last day to file for change in residency for fee assessment purposes for the 2009 fall semester.
September 29 Deadline to receive balance of registration fees, including late payment fees.
October
October 1 60% point of first bi-term.
October 1 Last day to apply for 2009 December graduation.
October 8-9 Fall Break
October 12 Classes resume.
October 20, 21 Final examinations for first bi-term classes.
October 21 Last day to drop a full semester course with a W.  Last day to change a full semester course from credit to audit. 
October 22 Second bi-term classes begin.
October 23 First bi-term final grades due by noon.
October 26 Last day to register for a second bi-term course.  Last day to drop a second bi-term course without a grade.  Last day to change a second bi-term course from audit to credit. Last day to receive 100% refund for second bi-term course.
October 27 $50 Schedule Change Fee begins for second bi-term classes.
October 28 Last day to receive 50% refund for second bi-term course.
October 30 Last day to receive any refund for second bi-term classes.
November
November 2 60% point of the fall semester for full semester courses.
November 2 Priority Registration for 2010 spring semester begins.
November 13 Last day to drop a second bi-term course with a W.  Last day to change a second bi-term course from credit to audit.
November 20 Last day students may remove an incomplete from the 2009 spring or summer term.
November 23 60% point of second bi-term.
November 25 Students' Thanksgiving break begins.
November 30 Classes resume.
December
December 7 Roster freeze date ( No late adds or withdrawals for extenuating circumstances will be processed after this date.)
December 14-18 Final examinations.
December 19 2009 Fall Commencement, 10:00 a.m.
December 21 Final grades due by 4 p.m..
   
2010 Winter Term Academic Calendar
October

Sept. 15-Jan 4

Registration through TopNet, 5 a.m. to 2 a.m.
December
Dec. 12 Bills mailed to registrants who registered September 15 - December 11. Fees are due January 6.
Dec. 12-Jan. 5 Students who register will receive bills via e-mail. Fees are due January 6.
Dec. 15-Jan. 4 TopNet will generally be available every day from 5 a.m. to 2 a.m. except for periodic interruptions due to system maintenance during the holiday break.
January
Jan. 5 Winter Term classes begin. Last day to register for Winter Term. Students registering on this date will be subject to a late registration penalty of $50.
Jan. 6 Last day to drop a course without a grade. Last day to receive 100% refund. Last day to change from audit to credit.
Jan. 6 Tuition and fees are due. Failure to receive a bill does not relieve the student of the obligation to pay tuition and fees by the due date.
Jan. 7 Last day to receive a 50% refund if student withdraws from a Winter Term course. A $20 Schedule Change Fee will be assessed for course withdrawal at this time.
Jan. 13 Last day to withdraw from a Winter Term course. Last day to change from credit to audit.
Jan. 16 60% point of the Winter Term.
Jan 19 Martin Luther King Day - University Closed
Jan. 23 Final Exams
Jan. 27 Final grades due by noon.

2009 Spring Commencement, E. A. Diddle Arena, for the following undergraduate students:

1 p.m. Arts & Letters, Business, University College, and Community College.

5 p.m. Health & Human Services, Science & Engineering, and Education & Behavioral Sciences.

May 19 Final grades due by noon.
May 20 Final grades available on TopNet
