My current research agenda focuses on the following: fear of crime and criminal victimization in neighborhood contexts, residential segregation and urban black violence, and some interest in structural covariates of urban homelessess. My interests are shifting somewhat, however, as I am beginning to become more interested in the interaction between family structure crime and delinquency rates. My research tends to be quantitative in nature. I have recently served on master's thesis committees for students who did research on fear of crime in schools, federal probation and recidivism rates, and perceptions of violence on television
