WKU graduates receive a quality musical grounding, which has prepared them for graduate study at University of Illinois, Florida State University, Eastman School of Music, Columbia University, Michigan State University, Peabody, Notre Dame, Northwestern University, Ohio State University, Louisiana State University, Indiana University, University of Florida and Cincinnati Conservatory of Music.
Recent students at Western hail from many counties in Kentucky and Tennessee, as well as from Indiana, California, Florida, Hong Kong and Korea.
Recent graduates have taught general music, band, choir and orchestra at many elementary, middle and senior high schools in Kentucky and Indiana. Other graduates are teaching in colleges, such as Berklee College of Music in Boston, Western Washington University, Western Kentucky University, Hillsborough Community College (FL), Campbellsville University (KY), and other graduates have many CD's to their credit, along with Dove and Grammy awards.
