The fall semester group meets twice weekly and performs a one act opera, a single act from an opera or opera excerpts. Emphasis is placed on the development and refinement of the singer/actor. In the spring the Opera Theatre combines with the Department of Theatre and Dance to mount a full scale opera or musical.

Recent productions include Pippin (Hirson/Swartz); Sweeney Todd (Sondheim); The Gondoliers (Gilbert and Sullivan); and Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors.
