Membership is obtained through audition. The WKU Jazz Band performs a wide repertoire of jazz music, from swing standards to cutting-edge selections from the present. There are significant opportunities for improvisation. Outstanding instruction in improvisation skill development and authentic performance of style is provided. The course is offered fall and spring semesters for one credit hour. This ensemble rehearses two days per week at one hour per rehearsal.
