This degree leads to one of three certifications to teach music in the public schools in the state Kentucky: instrumental music (K-12), vocal music (K-12), or music (K-12) (integrated track with vocal and instrumental training). The Bachelor of Music in Music Education requires 77 hours in music, 22 hours in professional education and certain additional classes prescribed within the general education component. No minor or second major is required.
