Search Syllabi

Direct Links
Some faculty put syllabi on their own pages:

Kathryn Abbott
John Hardin
Marion Lucas

You may search for any course syllabus using the links to the right, but linking directly to a faculty member's homepage is often quicker and more current if they have posted the syllabus.

Finding History Syllabi

All history faculty members post their course syllabi and materials online. To access these syllabi, connect to the University syllabus database using the link below.  This will spawn a window in your browser, allowing you to search for the course you want and still remain on the History website.

Search for Syllabus

The best way to search for a syllabus is by course number and section (for example: HIST305 001). You may also search using the last name of the instructor or by department. Note that you must use the course number or instructor's name as it appears in the WKU Course Catalog.

Tips for finding syllabi fast: Some history faculty post their syllabi on their own webpages and you may find those syllabi more quickly by using the links in the sidebar. Note that some courses do not have syllabi on the university database:

For special topics courses (one time offerings) or courses offered but not yet in the catalogue, consult the new courses page for more information if you cannot find them on the university database.

Independent Study (HIST499) and Graduate Study (HIST590, 599, and 600) courses do not have posted syllabi, consult the department head or the graduate advisor about these courses.  For information about HIST569-001 (Coop Ed in History), consult Professor Crowe-Carraco or the History Department Office.

Rules: Syllabi are provided online by the department as a convenience to its students. Users should know that online syllabi are posted at the start of each semester but are not always current.  Online syllabi are superceded by printed copies distributed in class and by updates made by faculty during term.  In all cases, it is the in-class syllabus which should be considered binding. Questions about a specific syllabus should be directed to the instructor. For contact information, see the faculty page.  For further information about this page or the program in general, return to the courses page,  email the Department or write to us.
