Certification Areas The Graduate Certificate in History: The History Department offers a Graduate Certificate in History option within our existing M.A. in History and M.A. in Education programs. Using existing graduate and "G" courses, students may choose the area in which they will specialize, with the approval of the graduate advisor. Upon the completion of 12 hours, the student would be awarded the certificate. If the student wanted to pursue the M.A. degree in history, the certificate would be considered as one of the fields in the student's M.A. exams.
