Asian Studies Minor focuses on the civilizations and societies in
East Asia (China and Japan) and South Asia (India and Pakistan).
The program has the following goals:
- To introduce
the history and culture of Asian societies.
- To enable
students to view international and intercultural issues from different
perspectives.
- To understand
the political, social, economic, and religious issues faced by
modern Asian countries.
- To illustrate
the interdependence among geographical areas of the world.
- To foster
respect and tolerance for human diversity.
