Quick Biography:
Dr. Lewis comes to us from the University of Kansas, where she is received her Ph.D. in Political Communication and Organizational Communication. She also holds a Masters degree in Communication with an emphasis in Political Communication and Research Methods from Kansas, and a B.A. in Political Science from Washburn University. Dr. Lewis ’ dissertation focuses on political communication and the 2004 Presidential election, emphasizing the current youth engagement movement in the U.S., and the political socialization of young citizens. Her research draws on social identity theory and identification research as a possible way to explain the political socialization of young people. As a tenure-track Assistant Professor, Dr. Lewis will instruct courses in speechwriting, political communication, organizational communication and research methods.
