Quick Biography:
Dr. Kell holds a Ph.D. from the University of Kansas. He taught at Texas A&M Univ, Univ. of Georgia, and has been at WKU since 1972. Dr. Kell’s program of research focuses on rhetorical/historical and critical issues in southern culture. His research centers on rhetorical history of the takeover of the Southern Baptist Convention (1980 - present) and the rhetorical elements of the popular culture phenomenon of "success" rhetorics in American life. He has published two books. Dr. Kell’s teaching interests center on rhetorical theory, criticism, and resulting historical critical evaluations of American culture, particularly the Southern culture.
