The master of arts in education degree requires 30-33 semesters, including an 18-hour component in art, art history, and art education. The remaining credits are taken in professional education courses.

The department also offers a minor program which can apply to a graduate degree in education. This program includes a 12-hour art component with 18 hours in professional education courses.
