Getting Work Experience

Today, employers and graduate schools are looking for graduates with broad backgrounds. Work experience, especially career related work experience, is an increasingly more important component of a well-rounded education. Western's Career Services Center can help you find career related employment (Cooperative Education and Internships and Kentucky Work Study Program -KWSP) as well as general part-time or summer jobs.

Cooperative Education and Internships
Through Western's Cooperative Education and Internship Program, students combine academic studies with paid on-the-job experience in their chosen career fields. As a co-op/intern student, you will graduate with a strong academic foundation plus the practical work experience that employers seek. You will also know from experience that the profession you have chosen is right for you.
