  • Katashia (Ka-TOSH-a) Witcher added quickness and excitement to the Lady Topper starting lineup. An immediate team leader, She averaged 7.5 points and 3.2 assists, while also adding 42 steals.
  • Totaled eight assists against Arkansas State.
  • Started her first game as a Lady Topper.
  • She turned in her best game against Louisiana Tech, scoring a career-high 25 points, including 7-of-8 free throw shots and the last-second game-winning layup. That winning layup was featured on both ESPN SportsCenter and CNN Sports as _The Play of the Day.
  • Her nine assists against Texas-Pan American was the most since Dawn Warner achieved the feat during the 1994-95 season.
  • Averaged nine points per game in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.

Previous School (1995-97)

  • Katashia came to Western Kentucky after posting remarkable numbers at Barton County (Kan.) Community College.
  • Witcher averaged 14.3 points, 6.3 assists, 3.5 steals and 5.5 rebounds per contest as a sophomore, the season before transferring to Western Kentucky.
  • Led the Cougars to a 28-5 overall record in 1996-97, including a 12-game win streak, and a 14-2 mark in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference.
  • Earned All-Jayhawk Conference honors following her sophomore season.
  • Served as team captain of the Barton County squad during the 1996-97 season.
  • Named to the 1997 Region VI All-Tournament team following her sophomore season.
  • Led the Cougars from the free throw line, connecting on 128-of-196 shots for a .653 percentage.
