Looking Back

  • Played a year of prep ball last season for Coach Keith Allsep at Washington College Academy in East Tennessee.
  • Scored 12 points a game while also averaging six rebounds for his 27-3 Eagle club, a team that posted victories over some of the top prep programs in the country (including two wins over a Fork Union team that featured current Topper teammate David Boyden) and narrowly missed an upset of undefeated and top ranked Oak Hill Academy.
  • Shot 47 percent from the field and 72 percent at the line.
  • Best game was 19-point (including four dunks), seven-rebound effort versus Sullivan South High in the title game of the Hardee’s Tip-Off Classic in Jonesborough, Tenn., earning him tourney MVP honors. In addition, he was an All-Tournament pick at the Texaco Tournament in South Carolina.
  • Helped the Eagles earn a third-place finish in the prestigious Reebok Prep Holiday Classic in Las Vegas.
  • Season was cut short when he suffered a lacerated kidney in early January in action with highly regarded Maine Central Institute in Toronto.
  • One of five athletes at WCA to sign with NCAA Division I schools; and, four others signed with Division II colleges.
  • Was a prep school teammate of current Topper Filip Videnov, also a native of Bulgaria.
  • Played on the Bulgarian Junior National Team (with WKU teammate Filip Videnov) that was runner-up in the European Championships before coming to the United States. And, he played two summers on a club team in Sofia, Bulgaria, that won the national title in it’s 19-and-under age group.
