Alumni Grant Program

Western Kentucky University will offer an alumni grant to any qualified
nonresident student whose parent, stepparent, or grandparent holds
an associates, baccalaureate, master's or specialist degree or has
completed a certified program from the university. This program
also includes institutions which are now a part of the University.
(Bowling Green Business University, Ogden College, and Potter
College.)

Undergraduate Students
Those undergraduate students who meet the following requirements
qualify automatically for an academic year and/or summer-term
alumni grant:

1. Beginning freshman: ACT composite score of 20 or higher, a
a high school grade point average (GPA) of at least a 2.5 on a 4.0 scale,
or an SAT combined score of 930.

2. Transfer students from an accredited college or university:
A cumulative college GPA of 2.2 or higher on a 4.0 scale where one
academic year (24 semester hours) or more of full-time enrollment has
been completed.

3. Readmission students: A cumulative GPA of 2.2 where one
academic year(24 semester hours) or more of full-time enrollment has
been completed.

4. Students enrolled with an alumni grant will qualify for the subsequent
academic year with a cumulative GPA of 2.2 or higher.

5. Students enrolled without an alumni grant may qualify for the
subsequent semester with a cumulative GPA of 2.2 or higher in one
semester or more of full-time enrollment.

Graduate Students
Graduate students admitted to WKU in good standing are eligible for
alumni grants. Transient students will be required to have the visiting
student form (Form H) on file to qualify for the grant.

Housing Requirement
All students with 59 or fewer earned semester hours registering as
full-time (12 or more hours) are required to live in campus housing.

Financial Benefits
Qualified students will pay the in-state registration fee and the alumni
grant will pay the difference between the in-state and out-of-state rates.
Registration fees at the time of enrollment will determine the value of the
Alumni Grant. Students qualifying for alumni grants also may apply for
other University scholarships.
