Revising

At this point, pictures should be added into the document.  You now know if the student needs to add more text or do they need to delete text.  If the student needs more text, have them look at their three areas and determine which is their weakest.  If they think their piece is wonderful and without weak areas, have them peer edit and then discuss with one another so they can see what other pieces are like and how theirs compares.

Once they know where to add text have them go back into their document and work on that.  Or if they need to delete, have them look for their weakest areas and remove them.

At this point, when they THINK they are finished, I print it and have them begin revising it.  Make sure that you go into properties on your printer and turn the color off or you will be out of ink in no time.

Have them check for run on sentences, grammar complications, punctuation problems, etc...  Then have them ask themselves, does it make sense?  They need to write their changes on their papers and then I take them back to the computer lab and work one on one with them to implant their changes without messing up the whole document.  This is sometimes tricky, so make sure to save often.
