Assignment: Creating Poetry for Publication
Prompt: Several times during the school year, you will be presented with the opportunity to submit your poetry for publication. Celebrations is an anthology which has published the poetry of several of my former students. For exceptionally good poetry, monetary awards and public recognition are forthcoming. There are numerous sources of publication for dedicated young poets and poetesses. Money and recognition or not, getting published is an exhilarating sharing experience with both extrinsic and intrinsic side benefits that can make you and your family proud, help build your college résumés to a more competitive level, and do wonders for your self-esteem.
