September 1

First meeting of Accounting 499 528-B, 4:00 pm. Grise Hall. All students enrolled in ACCT 499 should attend that meeting.

September 22

College Senior Assessment Examination is tentatively scheduled to be administered 4:00 pm, Room 511.

All students enrolled in ACCT 499 are expected to take the exam on the scheduled date.

Reminder:  Remember that you need to attend three  professional accounting meetings by the end of the semester

.October 13

First meeting written report deadline.  Be sure to follow the guidelines. Reports should be double spaced and limited to no more than two pages. Use one inch margins, and a 12 point, times new roman  font. Place your student ID number in the upper right hand corner of each page.  Reports may be submitted via e-mail to jack.hall@wku.edu.

Students schedule their mock interviews with career services during this period. Interview must be completed  according to the Interview schedule.

Tuesday,October 27

First Senior Assessment Examination is tentatively scheduled to be administered at 4:00 pm, Room 530.   The examination will be computer-based.

All students enrolled in ACCT 499 are expected to take the exam on the scheduled date.

Reminder:  Remember that you need to attend three professional accounting meetings by the end of the semester.

  • First examination results are available when exam answers are submitted. You may also check BlackBoard. For those not obtaining at least a 70% (35 out of 50 questions correct)  score, see the information concerning the second examination below.

  • No review of the examinations will be permitted until the second examination is given.  If unsuccessful on both the first and second examination, then a review of both examinations will be mandatory.

Tuesday, November 3

Second Senior Assessment Examination to be administered  4:00 pm Room 530:  This examination will be computer based.

  • Second examination results are available when exam answers are submitted. You may also check BlackBoard. For those not obtaining at least a 70% (35 out of 50 questions correct)  score, see the information concerning the third examination below.

  • Students not obtaining at least a 70% score on the second exam need to review the questions missed on their two exams.       


Please make an  appointment to review the questions with Ms. Glass in the Departmental Office.   You should review the questions and identify areas where you have weaknesses. You may take notes concerning the questions missed but you may not copy the questions from the exam. Also, you should not make any marks on the examination that you are reviewing.   The third examination will consist of the questions missed on the exam one and exam two. You must review the items missed from the two exams before taking Exam No. 3.


  • After reviewing the questions missed, the third assessment exam should be taken during these days: __________.  Schedule a time with Ms. Glass during these days to take the examination.

  • The assessment examination will continued to be administered by re-testing for all questions missed until a score of 70 percent is achieved. You must review the 3rd exam results prior to taking the fourth exam. Review the 3rd exam results During the week of April 20-24 by contacting Ms. Glass.


The fourth assessment exam can be scheduled during __________by contacting Ms. Glass.  If you are taking the fourth exam, you are strongly encouraged to review the material that you are having problems with prior to the exam.

December 1-4:

Pick up evaluation  form and personal data form from departmental office; complete forms and turn them in to the Department Office Associate (Ms. Glass) by December 9.
 
Attention:
Each student enrolled in the senior assessment course is required to attend a minimum of three professional meetings of Beta Alpha Psi.  A one page typed report of each meeting must be prepared.  Each report is due one week after the professional meeting occurs and may be submitted via e-mail to jack.hall@wku.edu.  At least one meeting and its report must be completed by October 13, 2009.

Do not procrastinate on attending these meetings.  If you wait until late in the semester to attend your  meetings, you may not be able to get all of them in because of cancellations, etc.

Watch the bulletin boards on the Fifth Floor of Grise Hall and check for e-mail messages to the accounting list-serve for dates and times of the meetings. 

At each meeting, be sure to sign the sign-in sheet to verify your attendance.  Failure to sign in may result in not receiving credit for the meeting.

Failure to attend the three meetings and providing a written report on each of them will result in not passing the course.
