A wide range of early childhood information is available in the form
of electronic newsletters, updates, and alerts sent to the email account
of subscribers. These are generally one-way communication and do not allow
for interaction from subscribers. Some come daily, weekly, monthly, or
sporadically depending upon the purpose of the sponsor or host. Some contain
advertisements for free or fee based materials and others do not. The
method for joining varies, but is frequently a short form on a web page
that may only ask for your email address. Other times you may be required
to send an email requesting to subscribe. Some people set up a different
email accounts for listservs and electronic resources because of the potential

Children's
Bureau Express is an electronic newsletter focusing on child abuse
and neglect, child welfare, and adoption. It includes short articles and
news. You can elect to have an alert emailed with the table of contents
and links or an email with the full text articles.

Exchange Every Day is
an electronic newsletter that is sent five days a week and includes stories,
solutions, trend reports, and other information of interest to those in
the early care and education field.

is an electronic of research reviews and interviews.
Children's Defense Fund
The Children's Defense Fund hosts the Movement to Leave
No Child Behind® e-mail alerts to help child advocates stay informed

Early Childhood Development, Family Income and Jobs, Child Welfare and
Mental Health, Grandparents and Other Relatives Raising Children, Youth
Development, Education, and Child Defender Newsletter.
Consumer Product Safety Commission
The CPSC has several email
subscription lists that may be of interest to early childhood students
and professionals. Of greatest relevance is the one named, “Only

The NAEYC Accreditation
E-Update is a monthly electronic newsletter that is designed especially
for programs, validators and other key stakeholders involved in the NAEYC
Academy for Early Childhood Program Accreditation, a national, voluntary
accreditation system to help raise the quality of all types of preschools.

The Public Policy division of NAEYC sponsors an E-Mail list that keeps
members informed of Public Policy
updates and action alerts on important child and family issues being
