Computer Prerequisite

This course uses an electronic text called "Algebra, Trigonometry and Mathematica" (AT&M). All students will get a copy of AT&M for free when you contact us. We can send you AT&M either on a set of installation disks (for PC's) or on a Zip disk (for Mac's) if you reimburse us for the expense of the disks. It is expected that by the end of the year, AT&M will be commercially available. After the commercial release of AT&M you will have to purchase a copy.

To use AT&M your computer must have its own copy of Mathematica (version 3.0 or higher), a software package available from Wolfram Research. (Wolfram Research )

To run Mathematica your computer needs to have at least 32 MB of RAM and 100 MB free hard disk space. The computer should be a Pentium or Macintosh Power PC.

Students can purchase a student version of Mathematica for about $140 directly from Wolfram Research. For instructions see their web page. It is also available at the WKU bookstore.

In addition your computer needs to have access to the internet, so that you can email with your instructor.
